Last Saturday, Storm varsity volleyball team faced The Hill School in a rivalry match that kept spectators on their feet. After dropping the first two sets, the Blue Storm battled back to secure an impressive 3–2 victory.
Head coach Will Hill highlighted the team’s comeback. “A standout moment was when we went down 0–2, and then the girls came together and pulled off three wins in a row,” Hill said.
The comeback reflected the team’s strong chemistry. Jazlyn Garnett ’27 credited teammate Kesi Mononia ’28 for her positive attitude. “No matter if it is a practice or a game, she always is so positive,” Garnett said. “She always puts the team first.”
Iyla Kwon ’27 described this year’s roster as “the strongest team we’ve had in the past three years” and highlighted freshman Maisie Smith ’30 for her hitting.
Clare Mohr ’29 couldn’t help but recall a memorable and humorous moment when a ball deflected off an opponent and landed in a basketball hoop.
With only a few matches remaining, Hill encouraged the girls to maintain their determination. His goal is for the team “to finish strong, to finish as a team fighting, and to become one as a team,” adding, “Don’t ever give up.”
