The Storm girls varsity tennis team traveled to The Hill School last Saturday for its final away match of the season. Despite a challenging matchup, Mercersburg put up a strong fight, reflecting the team’s improvement throughout the fall.  Lucy Huber ’29 delivered a particularly competitive performance, taking her opponent to a third-set tiebreaker.

This season brought significant changes to the program, including a new coaching staff. Head coach Michael Gerard emphasized the importance of teamwork and chemistry. “Our goal this year was to have our players be comfortable working as a team, without viewing each other as opponents,” Gerard said.

Throughout the match, players supported one another from courtside, cheering for points won and encouraging teammates after points lost.

Captain Amy Wang ’27 commented on the team’s growth throughout the season. “We matured so much, every player deserves a pat on the back because we developed a fire for never giving up.”

Managers Eric Cabezas ’27 and Dylan Melius ’27 praised Wang for her leadership, responsibility, and continued support for newer players.
