Erin McHugh

Erin McHugh, originally from New York, previously worked at Chatham Hall, a girls boarding school in Virginia and has extensive experience in college admissions. Seeking both a new challenge and the opportunity to contribute to a school known for its academic excellence and international community, McHugh brings a wealth of knowledge and fresh perspective to Mercersburg.  McHugh shared, “I’m impressed by how focused and driven the students are here. They really push themselves to achieve their goal, and the faculty here is equally dedicated to helping these students.” She described the school as feeling like home, saying, “Both the faculty and the students make this place enjoyable and welcoming.” As Mchugh settles in, she is eager to learn more about the community to better serve the students. “My goal is to get to know the seniors this year well and, over time, connect with all students, especially ones in younger year groups to help them find the best college fit,” she explained. With expertise in college admissions, a passion for guiding young people, and international experience, McHugh is excited to help students get ready for college and live their best lives for their next step ahead. Beyond her professional work, she enjoys traveling, reading, and music.
